NOURISHING OILS

Olive oil: Extra virgin or not, olive oil has been revered for millennia for its positive effects on human health; but it's not just for cooking anymore! To your skin, olive oil is full of antioxidants which, with everyday use, can help minimize the risk of skin cancer, slow premature aging, and combat worrisome conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
Coconut oil: Coconut oil has been used for centuries in tropical climates as a kind of sunscreen. With extended use, unrefined coconut oil acts as a natural barrier that helps to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays. Over time it can also smooth the skin's rough and less-than-perfect trouble spots.
Almond oil: Vitamin-rich sweet almond oil is nourishing and soothing; it helps the skin retain more moisture for an improved complexion and minimizing blemishes. It's also remarkably hydrating and aids the skin in reducing inflammation irritation.
Primrose oil: Pressed from the Evening Primrose plant, this oil is potent and highly effective at rejuvenating the skin and reversing the appearance of dark circles and damage from free radicals, leaving your skin feeling young and healthy. Primrose oil is also effective at fighting acne and cleansing pores by naturally dissolving impurities found deep within your skin.
Goat's milk: Milk and honey naturally go together and have been used as a metaphor for utopia since the dawn of civilization. Goat's milk is exceptionally high in vitamins A and D and help to moisturize, nourish, and protect the skin. It also acts as a gentle exfoliant to remove dead skin cells, leaving your skin soft and smooth.
Beeswax: My Sweet Honeybee soap wouldn't exist without the help of (what else?!) the honey bee, and beeswax is a unique and under-appreciated addition to our soaps that we think—along with honey—makes all the difference. Beeswax contains powerful antioxidants to help protect the skin, heal imperfections, and retain moisture.
Honey: If soap could be made just from honey, we would be the first on board. It's one of nature's most complex and beneficial substances and is invaluable to human health as a wonderful source of antioxidants, antimicrobials, and, well, pretty much every other anti-bad-everything. Honey helps to fight aging, acne, skin conditions and heal wounds and burns more quickly. Its innate antibacterial properties leave the skin feeling ultra clean and protected (thankfully without any sticky residue!). Daily use of our honey-based soaps can smooth, firm and give your skin a healthy, radiant glow.
Honey and beeswax are just two of the indispensable byproducts of bees; without them, our skin – and our world – would be at its knees. Bees are in danger and they need all the help they can get. My Sweet Honeybee is committed to fighting Colony Collapse Disorder by keeping our own hives and doing everything in our power to help the bees. Please consider doing as much as you can to help them, whether it be donating to a bee preservation organization, volunteering with a local beekeeper, or simply planting bee-friendly flowers in your garden and avoiding pesticides and fertilizers harmful to bees. Someday, they will thank you. And your skin will thank you even more.
